Welcome to EMF-15 and PLU-7

The 15th European Meeting on Ferroelectricity (EMF-15) will take place in Katowice from 31 August to 5 September 2025. This long-standing event, organized for over 55 years, will be hosted for the first time in Katowice, designated as the European City of Science. Notably, this edition will also feature the Polish-Lithuanian-Ukrainian (PLU7) Meeting. Both events are organized by the Ferroics Physics Group of the Institute of Physics at the University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland. The International Congress Centre (ICC), a premier venue for scientific and business gatherings, will serve as the conference location.

These joint meetings aim to create a unique platform for presenting groundbreaking ideas and applications in the field of ferroics, encompassing both foundational research and real-world innovations. Conference topics will include ferroelectricity and antiferroelectricity, material processing and characterization, theoretical studies and computer simulations, phase transitions, dielectric and optical spectroscopy, light-matter interactions, energy storage and conversion, and emerging technologies. We anticipate robust discussions on experimental techniques and applications, alongside presentations of significant advancements in ferroelectrics and antiferroelectrics, which are pivotal to modern solid-state physics.

We warmly welcome researchers, PhD students, and all those interested in the physics of ferroics to participate. In particular, we encourage young scholars at the beginning of their careers to seize this opportunity to engage with leading experts in the field.

Our goal is for participants to derive maximum benefit from the lectures, oral presentations, and poster sessions. We sincerely hope you will accept our invitation and join us in Katowice. We are confident that the time spent with us will be both scientifically enriching and culturally memorable.
